Apart From Me or With Me

This Friday, God gave me an inspiration to write a poem. I have titled this poem
Apart From Me or With Me.

Apart from Me, you would be like a tree with weak roots that can easily be blown
away in a storm.
With Me, you will be like a tree that can withstand any storm.
Apart from Me, you would be lost in the dark with no guide to lead you.
With Me, you will never be lost and I will guide you through the darkness into the
Apart from Me, you will be helpless with no one to comfort you when you are hurting.
With Me, you will never be alone. I will embrace you and wipe away any tears.
“I say to you that whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

I hope you enjoy the poem and have a great week!

A New Year (Resolutions)

It's a new year. 2018. People making their resolutions, planning what they will do in this new year.
I learned that a resolution is when someone makes a firm decision to do or not to do something. (Info)
What if you broke that firm decision? One of reaching someone in your neighborhood with the Gospel or one of not watching movies throughout the year?

We have to make our resolutions carefully or we may never complete our resolutions. As a Native American saying goes, "If you chase two rabbits, you will lose them both." (Info)
Similarly, if you chase two of your dreams (in your resolution) at the same time, you will lose them both.

It's best to work on one thing at a time in our resolutions, we don't want to be know as failures, but if you do fail, learn from your mistakes and find areas where you are weakest in and strengthen that area.

I'm not going to ask you to lessen your resolutions, but to make your resolutions carefully.

Have a happy new year!
